Auction proceeds claim form

Claim for net proceeds of auto auction sale form.

Before you begin

To submit a claim, you will be required to provide the following information:

  • Proof of ownership.
  • Vehicle license plate number or Vehicle Identification Number (VIN).
  • Date the vehicle was towed.

If you're eligible for a refund, you'll be asked to provide additional information. 

In order to receive payment of the proceeds of the sale of your vehicle, you're required to release any claim that you might have associated with the City of Minneapolis’ sale of your vehicle.

Deadline to submit a claim

Claim forms must be posted by U.S. Mail to the Impound Lot within 90 days of the auction date.

8 a.m. – 10 p.m.
Monday – Saturday

9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Sunday

Snow Emergency hours

Open 24 hours. On Day 3, plowing ends at 8 p.m. and we stay open until 1 a.m. (the next day). We then go back to our regular operating hours.

Holiday hours

We are closed on City holidays that fall on Monday-Friday. If the holiday falls on Saturday or Sunday, but is observed on Friday or Monday, the Impound Lot is closed on the Saturday or Sunday, and open on the Friday or Monday.
