City Operations Officer
Position highlights
Reporting directly to the mayor, the City Operations Officer (COO) is responsible for the effective, efficient, responsive and equitable administration of certain city functions, programs, and services. The COO has direct responsibility for non-community safety departments, including leading the City's new Office of Public Service. The COO leads the implementation of the mayor and council’s operational objectives and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, coordinated city services.
Candidates must
- Have a Bachelor's Degree in Business or Public Administration and a minimum of 10 years of professional experience in an executive leadership position, of which 5 years must have been in a senior-level position in a similar-sized organization.
- Be a proven inspirational leader and competent manager of leading a large complex organization and understands government operations in a shared governance structure.
- Have the ability to analyze, diagnose and deal with problems effectively and lead others to solutions as a collaborative problem-solving facilitator.
- Have strong demonstrated experience in building, maintaining, and when necessary, repairing relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Have demonstrated competence as a visionary leader, critical thinking, ethical leadership, outstanding communication skills.

- The starting salary range for this position is $278,767 - $330,460 annually depending on experience.
