35th Street safety improvements
This is a Vision Zero project. The City will install safety treatments using paint and bollards. These treatments will help prevent severe injuries and deaths from traffic crashes.

Project overview
The Vision Zero Capital Program will install cost effective safety improvements that
- Help to end crashes
- Promote safer driving
These improvements provide a similar user experience as
- Curb extensions
- Medians
- Lane narrowing
The goals of these safety improvements are to increase the safety of all users because they
- Promote safe driving
- Lower vehicle speeds
- Reduce crossing distances for people walking
- Improve visibility at intersections

Project update
We have delayed ten safety improvement locations until 2023. This delay is to build ADA curb ramps in the Powderhorn Park and Corcoran neighborhoods.
The ten intersections with ADA curb ramps are:
- 35th St. & 15th Ave. S.
- 35th St. & 16th Ave. S.
- 35th St. & 17th Ave. S.
- 35th St. & 18th Ave. S.
- 35th St. & Longfellow Ave. S.
- 35th St. & 19th Ave. S.
- 35th St. & 20th Ave. S.
- 35th St. & 21st Ave. S.
- 35th St. & 22nd Ave. S.
- 35th St. & 23rd Ave.
