Community sessions on police policies
You can attend an in-person session to give feedback on Minneapolis Police Department (MPD) policies.
We want your input on police policies
Community policing
Community policing:
- Is a collaboration between the police and the community
- Identifies and solves community problems
To do this well, we need the community involved to share input on police policies.
We intend to make sure that MPD’s mission, vision, values and goals, and policies, reflect the:
- Values and needs of the Minneapolis community
- Humanity, dignity and civil rights of people
- Importance of non-discriminatory policing in public safety
Reform work
This work includes reform of MPD’s policies on:
- Non-discriminatory policing
- Use of force
- Stops, searches and arrests
How we’ll use your feedback
The City will hear from you before making final policies. You will have at least 45 days to give feedback on each policy. The final policies will be available to the public.
