Water meter-reading appointments

There are times when you need to schedule an appointment to have us read your water meter.

Schedule a water meter-reading appointment if

  • You are moving or selling the property

    • Do this before you take your name off the property.
  • You see the code “EST” under "Meter Readings" on your utility bill

    • EST means we are estimating how much water you are using and may mean:
      • Your meter has stopped working
      • The automatic meter reader broke
      • A service worker was not able to access your meter to read it
  • You want to put a temporary stop on your water service.

    • You may do this if you are going to be away from your property for an extended period of time.

Making an appointment

You have two options

  • Calling us — this is the fastest way
  • Scheduling it online 

 

Appointment times

All appointments will be:

  • Between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.
  • Monday through Friday

Process for scheduling online

  • Log into your Utility Billing account
  • Go to Service Requests and select one of the following options:
    • Disconnect Service — if you are moving outside of Minneapolis
    • Transfer of Service — if you are moving within Minneapolis
    • Request Meter Reading — for any other reason
